A training manual produced under the Enhancing Community Inclusion and Dignity (ECID) project presenting a study-circle methodology for community education on GBV and SRHR. Built around WLSA's 'empowerment circle model', it integrates legal and economic empowerment across seven modules (gender awareness, human rights and the law, disability inclusion, SRHR, GBV, gender/GBV/HIV, and safe spaces), each with facilitated activities for community facilitators and opinion leaders.

·      Legal empowerment alone is insufficient; empowerment circles pair rights knowledge with confidence-building.

·      Legal and economic empowerment are complementary, enabling women to acquire assets and afford justice.

·      Harmful cultural practices (disinheritance, child marriage, virginity testing) perpetuate GBV.

·      Patriarchal traditional courts reinforce norms that perpetuate harmful practices.

 Use the empowerment-circle model (groups of ~10) for a multiplier effect on rights dissemination.

·      Involve men as agents of change and gender champions.

·      Integrate legal and economic empowerment so women can secure assets and redress.

·      Apply survivor-centred approaches and ensure inclusion of persons with disabilities.
