Annual report 2026
WLSA Zimbabwe's 2025 Annual Report, themed "From Strategic Defiance to Modelling the Future," positions the organisation as a "think-and-do" institution navigating a shrinking civic space under the PVO Amendment Act, economic instability, and a resurgent anti-rights backlash. Despite shrinking global funding for gender and reproductive rights, WLSA scaled its reach and influence, securing a landmark legislative win through Clause 11 of the Medical Services Amendment Bill and a 5-year MoU with Parliament. The report highlights expanded paralegal networks, direct legal aid, policy advocacy on child marriage and climate justice, and strong regional/international engagement, closing with priorities for 2026 focused on scaling influence and movement-building.
